CDF meeting with the Greater Cambridge Shared Planning

At our November meeting, the CDF were joined by Stephen Kelly, Joint Director of Planning and Economic Development, and Caroline Hunt, Local Development Framework Team Leader. The meeting focused on discussing the latest updates in the development of the Greater Cambridge Local Plan first proposals, and gave the opportunity for Forum members to pose their questions.

A broad range of topics were discussed, including the overarching vision and contents of the Local Plan in its current form, as well as:

• ambition in terms of major developments;

• impact of the climate crisis on the plan;

• relationship to employment growth;

• contingencies and contingent sites;

• connectivity and the relationship to transport plans;

• relationship to the Ox-Cam Arc vision and Spatial Framework;

• and design and how we can contribute to design work
